Specialized highly-skilled, niche roles in region with a severely constrained talent pool

A global tech specialist, established 100+ years ago with operations in over 170 countries, approached WilsonHCG after it struggled to fill a number of niche, skilled technology roles in high demand, low supply locations. The restricted talent pool and remote location added to the complexities of the hiring process. Many of the senior level vacancies were business dependent and the client’s revenue targets would have been negatively impacted had the positions not been successfully filled. Adding to the complexity, the client had strict deadlines to fulfill to ensure it wouldn’t fall behind on its projects.

Solution

WilsonHCG worked with the client to understand its culture, talent acquisition goals and business objectives. We conducted multiple talent acquisition discovery sessions so that we could truly understand the its requirements and used the results to develop a customised talent acquisition solution.

In order to better assist the client, one of our recruiters relocated to provide onsite support. Our bilingual talent acquisition experts created a strategic sourcing plan to improve the quality of hire and staff retention rates. We took ownership of the interviewing  process; conducted market mapping exercises, analyzed historical data and examined market intelligence to ensure the candidates that we sourced would be a good cultural fit for the organization. Due to the tech company’s very strict deadlines our team prioritized key roles so the client could launch its projects on time.

WilsonHCG also developed an extensive and selective talent community to increase the quality of candidates and reduce the time-to-fill.

The partnership with the global tech specialist is ongoing and our remit has expanded to cover other critical areas of the business. We’re continuing to exceed our targets to bring in better talent using expedited hiring processes, allowing the client to move forward with projects on time and to budget.
