Jasmine Bell, director of strategic sourcing at WilsonHCG, has been writing about how curiosity drives  effective sourcing strategies.

In a guest post for Recruiting Daily, she said curiosity is an essential trait for those working in talent acquisition, adding the art of crafting an effective sourcing strategy is built on research and planning, which is driven by curiosity and savviness.

“When it comes to sourcing, we are so much more productive and precise when we first have a solid understanding of both the target talent and the proverbial lay of the land,” Bell stated.

She recommends sourcers put themselves in the shoes of a candidate to fully understand their mindset and not to underestimate the research applicants do on employers when considering a new role.

Bell explained that on top of that, candidates are also cross comparing organizations with other competitors to find the best fit. She said that knowing how to pitch and sell an employee value proposition can make all the difference in engaging and retaining viable candidates and providing lasting talent solutions.
