Kim Pope talks to Forbes about the benefits of gamification in the hiring process
Kim Pope, WilsonHCG’s chief operating officer, has been speaking to the Forbes HR Council about the benefits of gamification in hiring.
During her interview with journalist, Kim, who has more than 15 years of experience in talent acquisition and recruitment process outsourcing, said gamification is great for testing industry knowledge and cited an example of gamification used by the Marriott International.
Gamification is traditionally a marketing tool that brings an entertainment aspect to the buying process to get customers actively involved and excited about the product/service offering. This is the concept behind campaigns such as McDonald’s Monopoly game.
Businesses have realized that gamification can be utilized elsewhere and not just in the hiring process., It can also help to offer more incentives and increase employee engagement. Gamifying should involve all levels of management, especially the C-suite, so everyone is participating in ongoing development for the entire workforce.
