Craig Sweeney: Learning and development programs key to attracting talent

The desire to learn and develop has become a key driver for many employees when seeking new roles, according to Craig Sweeney, SVP of global strategic talent solutions at WilsonHCG. 

In a recent interview with reporters at Hunt Scanlon Media, he examined some of the business benefits of learning and development (L&D) programs. 

He suggested integrating L&D during the onboarding phase and having it continue indefinitely through training sessions, virtual buddy systems and peer-to-peer learning.  

“Today’s candidates want the opportunity to learn and develop, to work flexibly (in all respects), to feel like they belong in the workplace, a healthy work-life balance with a company that cares, and they want to be able to positively impact society and make a real difference,” Sweeney added.
