The UK’s youth inactivity rate continues to rise | WilsonHCG

Significant inactivity for people aged 16-24 has been reported by the UK’s Office for National Statistics in its labour market figures from March.  

In an interview with reporters at Personnel Today, Janine Chidlow, managing director at WilsonHCG, said the UK “simply cannot afford to have such a significant level of inactivity." 

Chidlow added this was especially true for STEM remits, where a continued gap could have a detrimental effect on businesses and the economy without meaningful employment happening soon for this emerging demographic.
