March, what an eventful month. There's employee appreciation day, NCAA March Madness, Women's History Month... Pi Day (a nod to my fellow nerds reading this). This month also happens to house the one event many artists, foodies, musicians, cinematographers and technology-enthusiasts look forward to all year – South by Southwest (SXSW). SXSW provides a platform for some of the world's brightest, most forward-thinking people to come together and share ideas, past successes and failures (and future ones) and occasionally conceive something brilliant together in a whirl of scrumptious SouthBites, late-night comedy jams, tear-evoking keynote sessions and indie music magic-filled evenings.
While some may not understand how the HR industry fits into this seemingly "hipster" scene, the SXSW 2015 lineup provides a smorgasbord of opportunity for these professionals to strut their expertise in front of thought leaders across all sorts of industry sectors. In an environment where talent holds the key to organizational success (or failure), South by Southwest provides the perfect venue for a merging of minds surrounding topics such as recruitment marketing, millennials in the workplace, women in technology and the ever-changing employment landscape. Job-seekers, don't feel excluded from the SXSW scene. There are an equal number of events (if not more) suited for your needs!
For those of you lucky enough to attend this year's Austin showdown, check out some of the events geared towards HR professionals and job-seekers that have us wound up (We'll see you there!)
What are you looking forward to most and/or what would you like to see more of at SXSW in the future? We invite you to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
